Press Technician

Overview

Preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on pressing, butter, and related equipment in the press workshop will be the press technician's responsibility in order to guarantee that output objectives are met. This position will report to the Maintenance Coordinator and be situated in Tema.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily or routine inspections and sort out mechanical issues in the press workshop (which includes the presses and related machinery, the AMA Filter, cake bagging, pneumatic transport, conveyors, and agitators for storage tanks). • Assembles breakdown data and preventative schedules in order to do maintenance on the plant's press workshop equipment. • Troubleshoots malfunctioning mechanical equipment and performs the required urgent repairs • Provide assistance to press operators (as operator backup when necessary) so they may run press and butter equipment under supervision. This includes AMA Filter, cake bagging, conveyors, storage tank agitators, presses and related equipment. • Ascertain ideal conditions for a successful outcome. • Help the press operator complete all the paperwork, team board papers, and forms associated with the press workshop. • Assist the maintenance team with any more mechanically related interventions on the factory's whole production line, including the utilities

Requirements

• HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or its equivalent, and at least three to five years of experience in the food industrial sector, ideally in the processing of cocoa • It will be advantageous to have solid understanding of cocoa processing and theology of cocoa products, particularly in presses. • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, hygiene, and food safety defense • Adept with SAP, Maximo, Office programs, and POKA apps • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities; the capacity to work independently and fulfill deadlines
