Overview

In Sunyani, we are looking for a dedicated and meticulous Medicine Counter Assistant and Pharmacy Technician to join our team. A strong commitment to delivering top-notch patient care and one to three years of experience in a similar job are required of the perfect candidate.

Responsibilities

• Help pharmacists dispense prescription drugs to medical professionals and patients. • Check the prescription information for accuracy and completeness, being sure to confirm the dosage, administration method, and frequency. • In accordance with prescriptions, prepare and label drug packages, make sure they are properly stored, and maintain inventory control. • Ensure that the pharmacy's database contains accurate patient information and drug profiles. • Assist patients with any inquiries or concerns they may have regarding their drugs by offering them courteous and competent customer care. • Handle cash transactions for medication purchases and insurance claims processing. • Assist in keeping the pharmacy's surroundings tidy, stocked, and orderly. • Work together with other medical specialists to guarantee the best possible patient care and medication administration. • Keep up with the latest laws, rules, and best practices pertaining to pharmacies to guarantee patient safety and compliance. • Carry out further related tasks that the pharmacy manager or pharmacist assigns you.

Requirements

• A degree or certification in pharmacy technology or a similar discipline. • One to three years of experience in a related position, such as a pharmacy technician or medicine counter assistant. • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical safety procedures, pharmacology, and medical terminology. • Adept in using computer systems and pharmacy software. • Exceptional communication skills both in writing and speaking. • A keen eye for detail and the capacity to complete tasks accurately in a hectic setting. • The capacity to uphold patient privacy laws and confidentiality. • Proficient in both English and any pertinent regional language. • It is preferred to have certification from the Ghanaian Pharmacy Council.
