Datacenter Management-Engineer

Overview

You will be essential to managing our data center facilities as a Datacenter Management Engineer. Your knowledge will assure availability, performance, and risk reduction throughout our essential infrastructure. Your role will involve proactive risk identification and daily checklists to ensure the upkeep of a strong data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Facility Monitoring: Monitor and manage data center facilities to ensure availability and performance. • Vendor Supervision: Collaborate with facility vendors and managed services partners for support and maintenance activities. • Daily Checklists: Conduct daily checks on data center parameters, including temperature, power, and telecom. • Optimal Conditions: Ensure the data center maintains appropriate temperature and humidity levels. • Preventive maintenance (UPS, generator, electrical monitoring system, fire alarm, etc.) should be scheduled and managed in coordination with vendors. • Risk Assessment: Assess operational risks and proactively highlight them to management. • Risk Mitigation: Take all reasonable steps to implement risk-reduction measures. • Cable Management: Maintain proper and tidy cable management for all racks. • Proactive Risk Identification: Recognize hazards and notify management right once so corrective action may be taken. • Maintain appropriate housekeeping in the data centers. • Tier Classification: Understand data center tier level classification. • Infrastructure Recommendations: Recommend new and emerging cabling and infrastructure components to enhance overall solutions. • Adoption of Solutions: Suggest implementing infrastructure solutions for generators, AC, UPS, CCTV, and access control.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree: An appropriate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline. • Six years or more of experience managing data centers is required. • Certs: Having certifications related to data centers is beneficial. • Proficiency in infrastructure management, preventative maintenance, and risk assessment. • Collaborator: Manage cross-functional teams well. • Analytical Mindset: Recognize hazards and provide remedies. • Communication: Proficient both in writing and speaking.
