Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician

Overview

As a refrigeration and air conditioning technician, your main responsibility is to install, repair, and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems. You'll conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and repair or replace faulty components to ensure proper system functionality. Regular maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils and checking refrigerant levels, are also part of your job. You'll test systems for leaks, provide technical advice to customers, and keep accurate records of your work. Safety is crucial in this role, and you'll need to stay updated with industry advancements.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and fixing air conditioning units, freezers, ice makers, crusher machines, and other associated machinery. • Oversee, keep an eye on, update, maintain, and take accountability for the accuracy of the information. • Make sure the equipment is properly maintained and that preventative maintenance is carried out. • Repairing reactive breakdowns while attempting to identify the underlying cause. • Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with maintenance schedules. • Apparatus, machine upgrades, renovation projects, etc. • Conceiving and carrying out concepts for ongoing improvement. • Keeping track of shift handovers and equipment logs. • The capacity to organize tasks and set priorities in accordance with maintenance requirements. • When escalation is necessary, recognizes and communicates problems with confidence. • Key stakeholders are informed on the implementation of resolutions and interventions. • Point of contact for repairs and maintenance. • Repairing PLC control systems and AC and DC drives. • Provide support to shift technicians and fitters, including call-out and after-hours work, and take over shifts as needed. • Always prioritize your safety above all else. • Perform any additional tasks that the Direct Manager assigns you.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. • Two to three years' minimum of experience working in a comparable field • Competent in refrigeration and air conditioning • Experience and familiarity with the LG MULTI V III Air Conditioning System and VRV System are required.
