Overview

As an accountant in a manufacturing company, your main responsibility is to manage and oversee the financial aspects of the organization. You'll be in charge of preparing and analyzing financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. You'll also handle budgeting and forecasting, ensuring that the company's financial goals are met. Additionally, you'll be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. You'll play a crucial role in providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making within the company. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger activities. • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Conducting financial analysis and providing insights to support strategic decision-making and cost-saving initiatives. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure proper allocation of resources and adherence to financial controls. • Managing the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and accruals. • Supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed. • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and coordinating with external auditors during audits. • Implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. • Keeping up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices. • Collaborating with other departments to optimize processes and improve overall financial performance.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. • Previous experience working as an accountant in a manufacturing or similar industry. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations. • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing companies. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex financial data and identify areas for improvement. • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. • Knowledge of cost accounting principles and experience with inventory management. • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and understanding of the relationship between financial data and operations. • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments. • Strong communication skills to present financial information to stakeholders and provide insights for decision-making.
