Associate Lawyer

Overview

The position is for a Kumasi-based Associate Lawyer who works full-time on-site. In addition to representing clients in court and providing legal advice, the Associate Lawyer will also be in charge of conducting legal research, producing legal papers, and negotiating settlements. In addition, maintaining client connections and guaranteeing client satisfaction will fall under the purview of the Associate Lawyer.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis to support cases and provide advice to clients. • Draft legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, and motions. • Assist senior lawyers in preparing for trial, including organizing evidence and conducting witness interviews. • Attend court hearings and assist in presenting arguments and legal briefs. • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the case. • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients' cases. • Assist in negotiating settlements and resolving disputes outside of court. • Collaborate with colleagues on complex legal matters and share knowledge and expertise. • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation. • Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all aspects of legal practice.

Requirements

• Strong aptitude for analysis and problem-solving • Excellent communication skills both in writing and speaking • Excellent planning and time-management abilities • Must be a licensed attorney in Ghana with at least one to two years of post-call experience. • The ability to work well in a team atmosphere and pay close attention to detail are required. • It is preferable to have expertise in a variety of legal fields, such as litigation, corporate, and commercial law.
