Radio Optimization Engineer

Overview

A radio optimization engineer is responsible for making sure that radio networks perform at their best. They work with different technologies and equipment to improve signal quality, coverage, and capacity. Some of their main tasks include conducting tests, analyzing data, troubleshooting network issues, and collaborating with other teams to enhance network performance. It's an important role that requires technical skills and a good understanding of radio network optimization principles.

Responsibilities

• Optimization of Networks, Optimize the GSM, UMTS, or LTE networks. NR (5G) will be an additional benefit. • Demonstrate technological ingenuity and take the initiative to solve issues; • Implement advanced network performance optimization and management; Make changes to the top level parameters and carry out some analysis for the GUL(NR) RATS. • Able to oversee teams in the creation of daily performance reports and the identification and remediation of the lowest-performing cells. • Maintaining the KPI and making sure it hits the goal; • Weekly and monthly consistency assessments of network parameters based on project requirements; • Test new features and provide guidance on the use of parameters. • Estimating parts requirements and placing orders for parts to keep the right amount of inventory • Studies, develops, arranges, and puts into action logical and physical wireless communications networks. • Offers internal and external network connection capacity planning.

Requirements

• Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field. • More than five years of experience working in the telecom industry, with a good background in using wireless products from multiple vendors. • Experience in the domain: 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G Optimization of radio networks • Ability to do coverage and capacity analysis, offer planning solutions, and offer advice on high-level model tuning and traffic analysis. • Ability to advice on nominal planning in accordance with project requirements. • Acquainted with Huawei's latest innovations in spectrum efficiency and GULNR capacity enhancements. • Strong familiarity with vendor gear. Additional vendor knowledge is beneficial.
