Looking for a Head of School to take it into the next stage of growth, where it hopes to refine its mission and set itself apart as the best school for girls, educating them from the ages of 12 to 18 to become well-rounded, self-assured, capable, and compassionate leaders. An inclusive school that aims to draw females from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels to collaborate in order to realize each student's full potential in terms of accomplishments and potential career paths. Every girl receives coaching and encouragement to show this roundedness outside of her academic success. The teaching philosophy and curriculum aggressively encourage entrepreneurship, leadership, self-awareness, and a desire to make a positive impact on society. The Head of School's responsibility is to lead the school toward achieving and maintaining these objectives while bolstering LGC's increasing academic performance in the Cambridge IGCSE and West African School Certificate programs. These can be considered "counter-cultural" in Ghana, where scholastic achievement is frequently valued highly. To realize this ambition, we are looking for a strategic, thoughtful, and dedicated leader.
• Establish the strategic direction in consultation with the Board of Directors, keeping in mind the school's vision, mission, and core values. Take the lead in working with the board to create a school development plan. Assumes accountability for directing advancements and enhancements in accordance with the plan. • Establish benchmarks against industry leaders and guide ongoing improvements based on reliable metrics and qualitative data. Monitor and set standards for school performance and quality across all domains, including academics, personnel, and facilities. Ensure that LGC complies with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws, rules, and regulations at all times. • Establish a rapport with all parties involved in the school and engage them in ongoing, consultative communication. Organizes all correspondence between the school and parents, both internally and externally, to provide consistency and clarity at all times. • Act as the public face and spokesman for LGC • Enhance and reinforce LGC's curriculum with a solid pedagogy and learning philosophy that leads to and represents the school's goal for its female students. • Ensure that LGC has strong policies and procedures pertaining to safety, safeguarding, and welfare, which will establish a secure working and learning environment for both instructors and students. • Verify that LGC is an ecologically conscious organization that takes into account the effects of its activities and practices on the environment and is mindful of the sustainability of its local surroundings. • Oversee the school's business, financial, and risk management, and promptly report findings to the board. • Keep yourself updated with research, new developments in education, trends, and performance expectations of private schools generally as well as those that are comparable. • Encourage and maintain a strong culture of excellence and professionalism throughout all employee levels. Make sure that both teaching and non-teaching staff members engage in ongoing professional development, learning, and critical review. • Develop the ideas of global education to support young women in thriving in a world that is dynamic and complicated.
• A professional in education with a degree and other relevant academic and professional credentials. The ideal applicant would also be licensed to teach. Having a master's degree would help. • Prior leadership experience in international schools. Having experience outside of Ghana would be advantageous as well. • Familiarity with and understanding of national and international educational regulations as well as school administration procedures • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and motivate them to perform at their highest level. Capacity to integrate operational management with a strategic focus. • Capacity to manage the rigor and complexity of managing a school, including crisis management as necessary. An extra advantage would be particular boarding school management experience. • Excellent writer and presenter with strong communication abilities. • The capacity to establish a connection with individuals from diverse backgrounds and convey intricate or delicate information in an understandable and cohesive way. • Strong moral and ethical standards; able to uphold the LGC ideals and encourage the school community to do the same.
