Contributing Writer

Overview

One of Ghana's emerging content publishers and news platforms, is seeking Contributing Writers. The best candidates (3) will be placed as interns and may transition to permanent roles.

Responsibilities

• Write at least 4 Premium Quality articles a month (a very flexible task) • Content should be accurate, authentic, and relevant (originally well-researched) • Source authentic multi-media platforms to enhance your content • Source images to accompany your articles using our tools • Publish articles on our Content Management System (CMS) • Post articles on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn (automated) • Ensure timely processing and publishing of articles • Ensure that your materials meet editorial standards, in-house style guide, and the rules (policies) of modern consumer platforms, such as; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google (among others).

Requirements

• Previous writing experience (a qualification in any selected field is a plus) • Knowledge of CMS publishing • Experience in social media or general digital media outlets would be an added advantage • Expertise in local and global news trends • Contacts within the fields above and the news industries would be an advantage • Independence and dedication, as this position requires working from home • Good communication skills • Perfect command of the English language (you will take both a written and oral interview to justify your English language speaking and writing proficiency) • A good Personal Computer (PC); preferably a laptop with optimized battery life or a constant power supply • Access to good, stable and reliable internet connection WHAT WE OFFER • Competitive stipends (pay per-article-view and annual writer platform revenue share) • Comfortable working environment and super-friendly remote team • Guided access to free (basic) and advanced collaboration and media tools such as Canva, Jira Work Management (JWM), and Grammarly, among others • Free workshops and training sessions, opportunity to learn from some of the best players in education, writing, IT and other related fields
