Overview

A Media house is looking for a proactive and skilled Business Manager to lead and supervise the day-to-day business operations of a few of our media companies. The ideal applicant will be in charge of creating and carrying out business plans, overseeing financial plans, and making sure the radio stations continue to be profitable and expand. As the position requires knowing the media ecosystem and identifying chances for income generation and expansion, media experience will be an added plus.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure the station operates within budgetary constraints and achieves financial objectives.

• Ability to develop and implement strategies to generate revenue through advertising sales, sponsorships, events, and other monetization opportunities.

• Knowledge of audience measurement tools and techniques to track audience demographics, behaviors, and preferences, and use this data to inform programming and advertising decisions.

• Understanding media buying processes and negotiations with advertisers, as well as selling advertising space and airtime effectively.

• Familiarity with radio broadcasting equipment, software, and systems, including audio production software, automation systems, and studio hardware, to ensure smooth operations and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.

• Knowledge of regulations, licensing requirements, and industry standards to ensure the station operates in compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

• Understanding of digital media platforms, streaming technologies, and social media channels to expand the station's reach and engagement with audiences across various digital platforms.

• Ability to develop and execute marketing campaigns, promotions, and branding initiatives

Experience in managing advertising inventory, scheduling ad placements, and optimizing inventory utilization to maximize revenue potential.

• Skill in negotiating contracts with advertisers, vendors, and business partners to secure favorable terms and partnerships that benefit the station.

• Capacity to develop long-term business strategies, set goals, and make data-driven decisions to drive growth, profitability, and sustainability for the radio station.

• Strong leadership and managerial skills to oversee staff, delegate responsibilities, foster a positive work environment, and promote professional development among team members.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of Business Managements experience with exposure to various Business Management functions.

• Proven experience in business management, preferably in the media industry.

• Excellent understanding of business operations and financial management.

• Strong leadership and management skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
