Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Our client in the Manufacturing industry is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop contract specifications and inspect work performed by contractors to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Coordinate daily and weekly planning meetings related to maintenance.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to team members, and develop plans for skill development and succession.
• Collect drawings, manuals, and other documents to support contractor work and maintenance repairs or modifications.
• Coordinate plant shutdowns to meet all essential schedules.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules in consultation with the production department.
• Inform the Engineering Manager of parts and component requirements related to maintenance activities.
• Build and maintain a database of regular spare parts needed for maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with boilers, chillers, compressors machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
