Overview

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Packaging Manager for a Plastics Manufacturing Company who will be responsible for overseeing all packaging operations within the plastics manufacturing facility, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance. The role involves managing staff, optimizing production workflows, maintaining packaging equipment, and ensuring that finished products meet customer specifications and industry standards. This position requires strong leadership, technical understanding of plastic packaging materials, and experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all packaging activities to meet production targets.
  • Ensure efficient use of packaging materials, machines, and manpower.
  • Oversee daily workflow to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
  • Supervise packaging supervisors, machine operators, and line workers.
  • Train and develop employees on packaging processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct shift planning, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure proper operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance of packaging machines.
  • Report machine faults and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.
  • Monitor stock of packaging materials (labels, films, cartons, seals).
  • Ensure packaging processes comply with ISO standards and company quality procedures.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address defects or non-conformance.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) where necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce waste, and optimize cost.
  • Introduce new packaging technologies or methods to enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in packaging operations, preferably in a plastics manufacturing company.
  • Strong understanding of packaging machinery and plastic packaging materials.
  • Knowledge of production planning, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
