Overview
We are looking for an experienced Production Planner for a Paper Manufacturing Company who will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring the plant’s production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery of paper products. The Production Planner ensures optimal utilization of equipment, labour, and materials while minimizing waste and downtime.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with sales, supply chain, and operations teams to align production plans with customer requirements and delivery timelines.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules proactively to address delays, equipment breakdowns, or material shortages.
- Analyze demand forecasts, inventory data, and production trends to plan for material and capacity requirements.
- Work closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials, chemicals, and packaging supplies.
- Communicate production plans and priorities clearly to production supervisors, operators, and maintenance teams.
- Track production performance against schedule and report variances, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Optimize scheduling to maximize machine utilization and minimize changeover times and waste.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, schedules, and inventory levels using ERP or MRP systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning, scheduling, and resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in all planning activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in production planning or scheduling, preferably in the paper or continuous manufacturing industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and capacity planning.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to planning and problem-solving.
