Overview
Our client is looking for a Production Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing activities on the production floor. The role ensures that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. The supervisor leads a team of operators and technicians, monitors workflow, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
1. Production Operations
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities according to the production schedule.
- Ensure products are manufactured on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Monitor machine operation, material usage, and output levels.
- Communicate production goals and expectations to team members.
2. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, motivate, and guide a team of production workers and machine operators.
- Assign tasks, monitor attendance, and evaluate employee performance.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to improve skills and efficiency.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and a safe working culture.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Inspect products and processes to identify defects or deviations.
- Work with the Quality Assurance department to resolve non-conformances.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety checks before shifts.
- Report and investigate incidents or unsafe conditions promptly.
5. Process Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve workflow.
- Suggest ways to reduce waste, minimize downtime, and enhance efficiency.
- Support implementation of lean manufacturing or 5S practices.
6. Reporting & Communication
- Maintain accurate production records and shift reports.
- Communicate any issues affecting production to management.
- Participate in daily or weekly production meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven experience in team supervision or line management.
- Basic understanding of production planning, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or ERP systems is an advantage.
