Overview
The Plastic Technician is responsible for the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, mold hangeover, and product changeover on Husky HyPET 500 preform manufacturing machines and Sacmi cap production machines. The technician ensures optimal, minimal downtime, and quality output of plastic production lines
Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance activities on Husky and Sacmi plastic machines.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and process faults in preform and cap machines.
- Mold Changeover: Carry out safe and accurate mold changeovers on Husky HyPET and Sacmi equipment.
- Product Changeover: Adjust process settings and components during preform/cap size or design changes.
- Documentation & Reporting: Record maintenance activities, breakdowns, and changeover timelines.
- Support Production: Coordinate with operators and supervisors to reduce downtime and enhance machine efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety protocols during maintenance and production activities.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plastic Technology
- Minimum 2 years of experience in plastic processing machinery maintenance
- Hands-on experience with Husky HyPET and/or Sacmi machines (preferred)
- Good knowledge of mold and hot runner systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow SOPs for mold/product changeovers
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Awareness of workplace safety and maintenance best practices
