We are seeking an HSE Field Coordinator (Relais HSE) to ensure the operational monitoring of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance within field teams in Lomé. Working closely with the Logistics Officer, the role involves monitoring, controlling, and distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) while ensuring strict application of HSE rules during client interventions, field deployments, and team movements.
Daily Pre-Departure Checks
Inspect tricycles: tires, brakes, horn, lights, and secure cargo box.
Verify the presence and condition of team PPE.
Ensure proper storage and safe transport of tools and materials.
Lead daily safety briefings (hazard reminders, specific instructions).
Check driver documents (license, insurance, fuel).
During Travel
Enforce helmet use for drivers and passengers.
Ensure equipment is safely secured and does not obstruct driving.
Monitor compliance with traffic rules, speed, and safe driving.
Raise awareness of safe behavior in urban traffic.
On Client Sites (ISP)
Secure the client site: clear area, stable ladders, safe tool placement.
Assess risks: moisture, pets, electrical hazards, unstable surfaces.
Ensure waste is properly collected after interventions.
On Deployment Sites (OSP)
Verify pole stability before climbing.
Check safety signage and barriers (cones, tape, signs).
Monitor trenching, cable pulling, splicing, and installations for safety.
Ensure correct handling of cables, tools, and worksite organization.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete inspection forms, safety briefing reports, and near-miss/incident reports.
Immediately alert supervisors or the HSE Manager in case of serious risks.
Participate in weekly HSE briefings.
Skills & Knowledge
Familiarity with ISP (In-Service Provisioning) and OSP (Outside Plant) activities.
Knowledge of tricycle-related risks (driving, load transport, road exposure).
Ability to observe, alert, and communicate effectively and respectfully.
Capacity to draft or report field observations.
Education
BAC+2 in Geography (specialization in environment, risk management, or land use).
BTS in Environmental Engineering or related fields (quality, sanitation, industrial hygiene).
Technical BAC in Sanitation, Environment, or Hydraulics (with field experience preferred).
Equivalent diplomas will be considered.
