Logistics Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a Logistics Assistant to join our operations in Lomé. The selected candidate will play a vital role in supporting supply chain activities, including import/export operations, warehouse management, transport coordination, and customs clearance. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure compliance with ICRC procedures while supporting timely humanitarian responses.

Responsibilities

• Process and monitor logistics requests in compliance with ICRC standards and procedures.

• Organize and oversee transport operations (planning, loading, deliveries, coordination with service providers).

• Track stock levels, manage warehousing operations, and update relevant systems while ensuring accurate archiving.

• Handle customs clearance for incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring documentation and labeling compliance.

• Verify weights, dimensions, and quantities of goods, reporting discrepancies and securing proof of delivery.

• Implement risk controls in line with ICRC’s logistics risk matrix to prevent operational and compliance risks.

• Contribute to annual stock inventories and support the preparation of logistics reports.

Requirements

• Education: BTS/DUT in International Trade, Logistics, or equivalent qualification.

• Experience: 2–4 years in a similar position (humanitarian or logistics sector preferred).

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of the region and logistics processes (transport, customs, warehousing).

• IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and digital archiving tools.

• Languages: Fluency in French (spoken and written); proven proficiency in English (spoken, read, and written).

• Soft Skills: Highly organized, methodical, reliable, dynamic, and a strong team player.

• Personal Attributes: Strong sense of responsibility, flexibility, and ability to apply institutional procedures effectively.
