Bamboo Scouting Manager

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Bamboo Scouting Manager to join our team. This position involves the identification, assessment, and sustainable management of bamboo resources in designated regions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in fieldwork, local species identification, and bamboo ecosystem evaluation, with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field scouting to locate and assess wild and cultivated bamboo resources.
• Identify bamboo species and evaluate their health, maturity, and suitability for harvesting or conservation.
• Collaborate with local communities, farmers, and forestry officials.
• Maintain accurate records and geotagged data of bamboo sites.
• Provide recommendations for sustainable harvesting and regeneration.
• Report regularly to project leads and participate in planning sessions.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Forestry, Botany, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related fields.
• Proven experience in field scouting, plant identification, or agroforestry preferred.
• Familiarity with GPS tools, mapping software, and basic data analysis.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Physically fit and willing to travel extensively in rural/forest areas.
