Overview

While keeping quality standards intact, the purchasing supervisor manages the procurement team and makes sure that products, materials, and services are procured effectively and economically. Managing vendor relationships, making sure business regulations are followed, and streamlining procurement procedures to help achieve organizational objectives are all part of this function.

Responsibilities

• Create, examine, and handle purchase orders in compliance with accepted procurement practices. Get the required clearances and confirm that purchase requisitions are accurate and comprehensive.
• Engage with suppliers and vendors to get bids, haggle over prices, and guarantee prompt delivery of products and services.
• Track stock movements, keep an eye on inventory levels, and help predict future demands.
• Assure adherence to regulatory requirements, ethical norms, and corporate rules.
• Keep vendor agreements, purchase data, and records current and correct in the business's database or procurement system.
• Check purchase requisitions for accuracy and adherence to corporate guidelines.
• To make sure spending stays within allotted limits, help manage and monitor purchase budgets.
• Respond quickly and expertly to any administrative problems or disagreements pertaining to the purchase procedures.
• Assist the procurement team generally by investigating possible suppliers, analyzing the market, and spotting areas for cost reduction.
• Make sure that procurement procedures comply with all applicable laws, rules, and corporate guidelines.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar discipline is necessary.
• Three to five years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with at least two of those years spent in a supervisory capacity.
• Expertise with ERP and procurement applications.
• Strong and efficient communication abilities
• Excellent analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail
• The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure is a must.
• Depending on the needs of the job, they should be able to work extra and on the weekends.
