Overview

The Senior Compliance & Risk Associate will be in charge of managing tax-related risks, making sure that tax rules and regulations are followed, and assisting in the creation and implementation of internal controls to protect the business's financial stability.

Responsibilities

• To maximize tax situations, help with the creation and implementation of tax planning strategies. Assure complete adherence to tax laws and rules, including the timely filing and preparation of tax returns. • To make sure the business stays in compliance and takes advantage of any tax-saving possibilities, keep an eye on changes to the tax code and provide advice on their effects. • Determine, evaluate, and reduce tax-related risks, such as those connected to filing, reporting, and compliance. • Use proactive tax preparation and risk management techniques to reduce your exposure to fines, interest, or additional taxes. • Track and document the success of risk management tactics, suggesting adjustments as necessary. • To guarantee tax compliance and accuracy in financial and tax reporting, support the creation, documentation, and use of internal controls. • Work together with the finance department to guarantee correct and on-time tax reporting. • Verify adherence to corporation rules and tax laws by reviewing tax returns and other relevant financial information. • Make ensuring that tax issues are appropriately incorporated into business decisions and procedures. • Give advice on risk management and tax compliance, including possible tax consequences and how to mitigate them.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required. • A master's degree is beneficial. • Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA are advantageous. • It is required to have multicultural experience. • Being able to speak French is advantageous. • a minimum of 8+ years of experience in a Big 4 or similar organization, with an emphasis on planning, reporting, and tax advice. • Adept at using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), with a strong command of Excel for reporting and analyzing tax data. • Thorough familiarity with local tax laws and rules, including indirect taxes, corporate income tax, and other pertinent tax structures. • Familiarity with tax compliance procedures, such as preparing, submitting, and documenting tax returns while guaranteeing correctness and conformity to legal mandates.
