Sustainability Officer

Overview

Sustainability Officer to lead and implement sustainability initiatives across our operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring strategies to ensure the company’s operations align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) best practices.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a thorough sustainability plan in line with the objectives and mission of the business. • Find ways to include sustainable practices into the supply chain, product lifecycle, and business operations. • Establish quantifiable sustainability goals and KPIs, and keep a close eye on your progress. • To find areas that need improvement, conduct audits and environmental impact assessments. • Put policies in place to cut down on energy use, waste, and carbon emissions. • Encourage the use of sustainable resources and renewable energy in business operations. • Verify adherence to environmental laws and guidelines. • Create and manage community involvement initiatives that complement the business's sustainability objectives. • Encourage inclusiveness, diversity, and fair labour standards throughout the company. • Work together with neighborhood groups to promote social development programs. • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, such as clients, investors, and regulatory agencies, with questions about sustainability. • Create and deliver sustainability reports to stakeholders both inside and outside the company. • Work together with partners and suppliers to advance sustainable supply chain processes. • Verify adherence to regional and global sustainability certifications and requirements. • Track and document the business's sustainability performance, taking into account social impact, waste management, and carbon footprint. • Keep abreast on new developments in sustainability laws, best practices, and trends.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, sustainability, environmental science, or a similar discipline. • It is advantageous to have a master's degree or professional certification in sustainability (such as CSR or ESG). • A minimum of three to five years of experience in environmental management, corporate social responsibility, or sustainability. • A demonstrated history of creating and carrying out effective sustainability projects. • It is advantageous to have prior experience working in the manufacturing, exporting, or trade sectors. • Good familiarity with sustainability frameworks, standards, and laws (e.g., UN SDGs, ISO 14001). • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities. • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency in stakeholder involvement and communication. • Proficiency with reporting tools and data analysis.
