Grants Officer

Overview

You will work in a team as a Grants Officer and answer to the Partnerships & Innovation Manager. Along with a strong interest in agriculture, climate change, AgriTech, precision farming, environmental conservation, artificial intelligence, and rural development in Ghana and across the world, the best applicants will also possess good research, writing, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Find pertinent funding opportunities from foundations, government organizations, and foreign donors by doing research. • Compose strong idea notes, letters of inquiry, and grant submissions that are suited to certain funding possibilities. • Work along with the business development team to collect information for grant applications, such as impact stories and data. • Verify that proposals complement the company's purpose, vision, and goals as well as donor preferences. • Keep track of grant due dates and submission specifications to make sure applications are submitted on time. • Establish and keep up the database for grant management: ensuring the precise and consistent entry of all grant and grantee data. Making suggestions on a regular basis to improve database management, budgeting, and grant tracking. • Help with grant budget preparation and financial arguments.

Requirements

• Education: Currently enrolled in or just finished a graduate degree (bachelor's, master's, or doctoral) in public policy, communications, development studies, environmental science, agriculture, agribusiness, economics, or a similar discipline. • Writing Proficiency: Excellent technical, grant, and narrative writing skills. It is advantageous to have prior experience draughting grant proposals that were accepted. • Research and Analytical Skills: Capacity to investigate financing prospects and combine intricate data into convincing proposals. • Paying Close Attention to Details: Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to precisely fulfil deadlines. • Knowledge of Agriculture & Development Issues: It is preferable to have knowledge of climate change, AgriTech solutions, smallholder farming methods, rural financing, or agricultural mechanization.
