Compliance Officer

Overview

The ideal applicant would have practical expertise with licensing and regulatory procedures, especially in the Ghanaian context, and a solid background in the fintech or lending sector. This position will be essential to expanding our company while maintaining adherence to all applicable rules and laws.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the application and upkeep of a Ghanaian microfinance or lending licence. • Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies, guaranteeing prompt submission and adherence to all specifications. • Keep an eye on regulatory developments and inform management of any ramifications or modifications that are required. • Create and put into action plans to guarantee that business activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. • Develop and implement compliance procedures in close collaboration with internal teams. • To find and reduce compliance risks, do routine audits and reviews. • Use your understanding of the regulatory environment to find development prospects in the fintech and lending sectors. • Establish and preserve solid bonds with partners, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. • Encourage the creation and introduction of goods and services that satisfy consumer needs and legal requirements. • Give legal advice on agreements, contracts, and legal frameworks. • Assistance in the creation and evaluation of the paperwork needed for regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• Law, business administration, finance, or a similar discipline at the bachelor's degree level. It is advantageous to have a master's degree or professional certification in compliance. • Five years or more of experience in a legal or compliance capacity, ideally in the loan or fintech sector. • Shown expertise in managing licensing and regulatory issues, particularly those pertaining to microfinance or lending licenses in Ghana. • Strong knowledge of the applicable legislation and the financial regulatory environment in Ghana. • Outstanding interpersonal, negotiating, and analytical abilities
