Media Relations Coordinator

Overview

The job entails managing social media and websites, coordinating media relations, producing multimedia materials to advocate for change, raise awareness, and fortify stakeholder relationships, as well as creating interesting content for target audiences such as donors, partners, local media, and national and local government.

Responsibilities

• Create and carry out a thorough communication strategy in line with the objectives of the company. • Create and oversee interesting material, such as blogs, reports, social media postings, videos, press releases, and articles. • Determine the most important audiences, messaging, and content schedules for different channels. • Oversee social media and websites; track and evaluate interaction • Establish and preserve connections with the media, plan press events, and keep an eye on coverage. • Create content aimed at important stakeholders, such as government representatives and donors. • Help with the creation and dissemination of communication materials for events involving stakeholders. • Manage style standards, keep branding consistent, and take care of any reputational concerns. • Monitor and assess communication initiatives; adjust tactics in light of information and input.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is necessary. • Two or more years of experience in public relations and communications for NGOs or non-profits is necessary. • Experience creating content for many media platforms for at least two years is necessary. • Knowledge of the water, sanitation, and hygiene industry and prior expertise in media relations are necessary. • Computer skills are necessary. • English proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading is necessary.
