Insurance Sales Officer

Overview

Reporting to the managing director, your duties as an insurance sales/data capture officer will include capturing and selling insurance plans as well as contacting and meeting with current and future customers in order to expand your clientele.

Responsibilities

• Find and investigate possible customers, then establish enduring connections with them. • Convince potential customers to speak with you over the phone or in person to go over insurance options. • Give customers advice on the insurance plans that will work best for them. • Introduce prospective clients to authorized insurance and go over the advantages and disadvantages of each. • After a life-altering incident, reevaluate the policy requirements of current clients. • Compile and submit claim forms, provide quotations, keep track of customer information, and create reports in order to collect insurance data. • Stay up to date on market and industry developments and best practices. • Keep your relationships with clients (internal and external) good. • Verify that the broking operations adhere to the authorized plans and budgets. • Verify the technical quality and correctness of all policies and deliverables, such as training materials, promotional materials, financial and technical reports, and monthly performance reports. • Support the implementation of nationwide initiatives for insurance education and uptake in coordination with pertinent stakeholders. • Perform any additional tasks and obligations that may be delegated.

Requirements

• An HND or degree in business administration, marketing, insurance, or a similar discipline. • It would be beneficial to work for insurance certification and/or chartered insurance status. • One to two years of prior relevant work experience as a data capture agent, insurance sales officer, insurance agent, or in a similar role. • Knowledge of insurance laws, policies, and guidelines. • Strong presenting and communication abilities. • Being skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is part of being information communication savvy. • Tenacious nature and a resilient soul.
