Transport Lead

Overview

You will oversee and direct the prompt execution and delivery procedures of orders to clients as the transport lead, making sure that every order is precise and handled with care.

Responsibilities

• Work together with the warehouse and outbound teams to guarantee precise and prompt order loading. • To guarantee excellent service standards, track shipments in real-time and keep an eye on delivery performance. • Address any problems relating to transportation, such as shortages, damage, or delays. • To boost productivity, cut expenses, and improve customer happiness, transportation procedures should be continuously assessed and improved. • Build and preserve connections with carriers to guarantee their capacity, dependability, and affordability. • To guarantee efficient transportation operations, communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, such as sales, the stock management team, the delivery lead, and the demand planner. Scheduling transportation and understanding truck loading requirements • Determine patterns, areas for cost reduction, and areas for improvement by analysing data. • To maintain low working costs, review freight prices and other transportation expenses.

Requirements

• A degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in logistics, supply chain management, or a similar discipline • Professional accreditation in transport management or logistics • 5–8 years of experience in transport or logistics positions, ideally in the FMCG industry • Proficiency in SAP for efficient operations management • Optimization of transport costs and efficiency plan • Capacity to decipher GPS data and transport management system data to increase efficiency • Ability to use digital tools for delivery tracking, scheduling, and routing • Management of vendors
