• Perform inspections: Look for visual flaws in steel items, such as bends, cracks, or uneven surfaces. • Conduct tests: Perform mechanical testing, including analyses of chemical composition, hardness, and tensile strength. • Examine the findings: Analyse test results, spot patterns, and assess if they meet requirements. • Determine flaws: Defects, deviations, or non-conformities should be noted and reported to management and production teams. • Put remedial measures into action: Work together with production teams to prevent errors, enhance procedures, and put corrective measures into place. • Keep documentation: Maintain thorough records of all testing, inspections, and outcomes. • Take part in audits: Help with internal and external audits to make sure rules and industry standards are being followed.
• Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, metallurgy, or a similar discipline. • Experience: two to five years of quality control experience, ideally in the steel manufacturing sector. • Proficiency in communication, problem-solving, and analysis.
