The Finance Assistant will support the Finance and Administration Manager in managing the financial and administrative operations of the company. The Officer will play a key role in financial management, reporting, administrative operations, and other operational tasks critical to the company’s success.
• Assist in managing the company’s financial records, including maintaining the general ledger, recording journal entries, and monitoring daily financial transactions. • Support monthly bank reconciliations and facilitate year-end account closures in alignment with accounting standards. • Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. • Provide support for interim and annual audits, including preparing necessary documentation and facilitating the audit process. • Prepare and process financial documentation, including payment vouchers, proforma invoices, sales invoices, and payment receipts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. • Accurately input financial and administrative data into the company’s accounting software to maintain reliable and up-to-date records. • Manage company facilities, including coordinating vehicle schedules, overseeing driver assignments, and ensuring proper vehicle maintenance. • Facilitate employee travel arrangements, including booking airline tickets, securing accommodations, and processing visa applications such as resident and travel permits. • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Finance and Administration Manager. Additional Employment Terms: • Employees must not engage in additional employment or business activities without prior written approval from the company. • Services provided to the company’s clients, suppliers, or contractors must strictly adhere to the company’s instructions and the scope of the employee’s role.
• A first degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. • A professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ICA, CIMA) or active progression toward qualification is DESIRED. • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or administration. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required, and familiarity with accounting software is desirable. • Basic knowledge of local tax laws and compliance regulations is desirable • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
