IT Systems and Security Administrator

Overview

The IT Systems and Security Administrator will be in charge of planning, putting into place, and overseeing the company's IT infrastructure while making sure it is secure and adheres to industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, and maintain storage systems, networks, and servers. • Track and control the dependability, availability, and performance of the system. Carry out backups, patch management, and system updates. • Configure and diagnose software and hardware problems. • Oversee hybrid environments and cloud-based systems, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. • Create, carry out, and uphold IT security policies and practices. • Conduct routine penetration tests and vulnerability assessments. • Set up intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, and antivirus software. • Keep an eye on security logs, address problems, and reduce hazards. • Control access and identity measures, such as multi-factor authentication (MFA). • Put data loss prevention (DLP) solutions in place and keep them maintained. • LAN/WAN infrastructure, such as wireless networks and VPNs, should be maintained. • Diagnose problems with connectivity and enhance network efficiency. • Make sure the network is up and redundant by using failover techniques. • Verify adherence to industry rules, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS. • Prepare paperwork for external audits and carry out internal IT audits. • Create and evaluate business continuity plans (BCP) and disaster recovery plans (DRP). • Make sure data restoration procedures are operational and put backup options into place. • Assist end users with system and security-related technical problems. • Provide staff members with security awareness training.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a similar discipline. • Certifications like: • Security: CompTIA Security+ Systems, CISSP, CISM, and CEH Microsoft Certified: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Azure Administrator • Connection: CCNA, CCNP • Shown expertise in IT security and systems administration spanning three to five years.
