Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

With a strong emphasis on product design and robotics applications, the Mechanical Design Engineer will help with the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems. Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive drawings and creative product concepts with CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion 360). • Make sure every product design is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and manufacturable. • Review designs and make cost, performance, and user experience optimisations. • For smooth operation, design and integrate robotic, mechatronic, and mechanical systems. • Test the system as a whole to make sure it works and is compatible. • Make thorough interface diagrams to direct the integration procedure. • Examine and record system requirements in accordance with technical specifications, safety regulations, and customer needs. • Compile technical evaluation reports and carry out feasibility studies. • To simulate and validate designs, use programs like FEA/CFD software, Simulink, and MATLAB. • Produce simulation results that guarantee system dependability in a range of operational scenarios. • To incorporate mechanical designs into robotic systems, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. • Encourage the creation of motion control systems and make sure they work with software and electrical systems. • Take part in collaborative design reviews, system testing, and prototyping sessions. • Contribute knowledge and mechanical engineering skills to improve robotic designs. • Create validation techniques and testing procedures to guarantee the dependability of systems and products. • For failures found, carry out root cause studies and apply design enhancements. • Verify that designs adhere to safety regulations like IEC 61508. • Perform risk analyses and record mitigation plans for hazards that have been identified.

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering bachelor's degree. • Advanced knowledge of CAD programs, such as Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor. • Familiarity with simulation software, such as MATLAB, Simulink, FEA, and CFD. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. • Technical writing and communication skills that are both clear and efficient. • Two to four years of experience in robotics applications, mechanical systems development, or product design. • Practical experience integrating control systems and prototyping. • Demonstrated ability to work with interdisciplinary teams, especially in the field of robotics.
