Agronomist

Overview

To promote sustainable farming efforts and guarantee adherence to international standards, the ideal applicant will contribute substantial experience in smallholder farmer management, certification procedures, and agricultural practices.

Responsibilities

• Create and put into action plans to improve crop quality and yield. • Verify adherence to certification requirements, including Fair Trade and Global GAP standards. • Organise and supervise audits for certification. • Oversee smallholder farmers and offer them technical assistance while cultivating enduring and fruitful partnerships. • Make recommendations for best farming methods by doing assessments of the soil, water, and crops. • Work together as a team to match with industry best practices and organisational goals. • Observe and assess agricultural initiatives, offering perceptive comments and suggestions for enhancement.

Requirements

• A master's degree in agriculture, agronomy, or a similar discipline. • Six years or more of experience in agronomy or a similar field. • Strong familiarity with Fair Trade, Global GAP, and certification requirements. • Demonstrated expertise in overseeing smallholder farmers. • Outstanding analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities. • Willingness to move to North Ketu (with lodging available).
