Overview

The Fundraising Specialist will take charge of growing income from trusts and foundations and building strong partnerships with schools, corporations, and individuals to support our financial goals. This role involves strategic collaboration with the CEO to develop and manage large-scale fundraising initiatives and overseeing a small fundraising team, including a Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Communications Manager.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: o Manage a small team, including part-time Trusts and Foundations Manager, Fundraising Manager, and full-time Communications Manager. o Provide guidance and strategic input, support professional development, and ensure team well-being. o Oversee interns and other roles supporting fundraising and communications. • Trusts and Foundations: o Assist the Trusts and Foundations Manager in cultivating relationships with small to medium-sized grant-makers. o Manage the grants database and track applications, outcomes, and reporting requirements. o Develop new relationships with larger grant providers and manage the application process. o Collaborate with the UK and Ghana teams to identify suitable projects for funding. o Develop funding proposals in partnership with the CEO and delivery teams. o Ensure timely and accurate reporting to funders. • Community Fundraising & Events: o Work with the Fundraising Manager on campaigns, events, school partnerships, and online courses to support fundraising. o Help lead the strategy for the 10th anniversary fundraising activities in 2025. o Develop and guide the EduChamps Community and optimize the use of the newsletter. o Enhance the individual giving program (“EduChamps Club”) tied to the anniversary activities. o Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager and Interns to research potential donors and partners. • Corporate Partnerships: o Identify and promote corporate sponsorship opportunities for specific projects and programs. • General Responsibilities: o Contribute to the charity’s fundraising strategy and assist in preparing the annual business plan, budget, and annual report. o Ensure accuracy in administrative tasks related to fundraising. o Adhere to organizational policies and procedures. o Take on any other tasks as required.

Requirements

o Proven success in fundraising, particularly within education or international development sectors. o Experience in securing grants and corporate partnerships in the range of 5 to 6 figures (GBP). o Strong knowledge of UK-based and international funders. o Experience in communications and marketing within an NGO context. o Proven success in managing partnerships, including with corporates and schools. o Experience managing individual giving campaigns and digital fundraising efforts. o Strong leadership and team management abilities. o Skilled in writing successful funding proposals. o Experience in managing grants and reporting to donors. o Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision. o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to advocate for the organization’s work. o Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Google Drive, and similar tools.
