Overview

The Customs Clearance Supervisor oversees the process of clearing goods through customs to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This role requires strong knowledge of customs regulations, effective communication with customs authorities, and coordination with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient import/export operations.

Responsibilities

• To oversee, administer, and uphold general customs compliance protocols in order to guarantee that businesses function in accordance with different laws and guidelines. • In charge of supporting other branches with any questions or concerns pertaining to customs. • Help with any company-wide customs needs. • Examine, approve, or deny clearance requests, and make sure the data release is accurate. • Report on key performance metrics and gather and aggregate performance data from probes. • To prepare and process freight customs clearances, communicate with all clients, vendors, government organisations, freight forwarders, importers, exporters, and others as needed. • Set up import clearances into Bond and, if necessary, removals from Bond for air, sea and road freight. • Determine prospects for creating value-added services for current clients. • Create, connect, and release all customs paperwork. • Mentor and assist less seasoned employees, answering their questions and offering advice as needed. • In charge of handling more difficult and complex clearance procedures as well as any more difficult problems that may come up.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in shipping and ports management • It is necessary to have three to five years of expertise in FMCG, ICUMS management, and customs compliance. • expertise in breaking bulk freight, clearing a lot of containers, and field clearance procedures. • thorough familiarity with GPHA rules and regulations • adept at using the Microsoft Office suite. • Outstanding communication skills, both in writing and speaking • Proficiency in leadership and knowledge of the procedures and customs around importation into Ghana
