Overview

The commercial manager is in charge of creating and carrying out strategic plans to optimise earnings and guarantee the TV station's financial expansion. Building relationships with important stakeholders, coordinating sales, marketing, and advertising initiatives, and supervising the station's programming and resource monetisation are all part of this job.

Responsibilities

• Create and carry out the commercial plan to meet financial goals and corporate objectives. • Find additional sources of income, such as collaborations, sponsorships, and advertising opportunities. • Analyse the market to learn about competitor activity, industry trends, and audience demographics. • Oversee the sales force to negotiate sponsorships, advertising contracts, and other business opportunities. • Contracts and prices should be negotiated with clients, sponsors, and marketers. • Track sales results while offering direction and assistance to meet goals. • Oversee the creation of marketing initiatives to advertise the station's services and programs. • Work with the production and creative teams to match content and branding initiatives. • Create plans to raise audience engagement and brand awareness. • Establish and preserve connections with corporate partners, sponsors, and advertisements. • At industry gatherings, represent the station to promote networking and collaboration opportunities. • Serve as a point of contact with the commercial team and other organisational departments. • Create and oversee the budget for the commercial division. • Maintain profitability by controlling expenses and allocating resources as efficiently as possible. • Provide a financial performance report that highlights important findings and suggestions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in media studies, marketing, business administration, or a similar discipline. • Advanced marketing or sales certifications are beneficial. • Shown expertise in business development, marketing, or sales, ideally in the broadcasting or media sectors. • Strong knowledge in acquiring sponsorships and selling media ads. • Competence with data analysis applications and CRM technologies. • Outstanding interpersonal, negotiating, and communication abilities. • Good problem-solving skills and a strategic mind. • Incredibly well-organised and skilled at managing their time. • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and inventiveness.
