In order to maintain timely and accurate financial records, the accounting specialist will oversee a variety of accounting duties. Maintaining financial records, balancing accounts, and helping with budget preparation are all part of this job. The ideal applicant should be very organised, have a keen eye for detail, and be able to work both alone and collaboratively.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness by maintaining and updating the general ledger. • For a variety of transactions, prepare and publish journal entries. • Carry out closure tasks on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. • Regularly reconcile other accounts and bank statements. • Look into and promptly settle any differences. • Contribute to the creation of financial statements, such as cash flow, income, and balance sheets. • Encourage the production of financial summaries and management reports. • Contribute to the creation of periodic projections and annual budgets. • Track the performance of the budget and report any deviations. • Verify adherence to pertinent laws, business policies, and accounting standards. • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing paperwork. • Ascertain that project accounting operations adhere to organisational policies, accounting standards, and financial regulations. • To guarantee accuracy and completeness, participate in project audits and reviews. • Accurately and effectively handle accounts payable and receivable transactions. • Keep an eye on ageing reports and pursue past-due accounts. • Find and apply process enhancements to increase accounting operations' accuracy and efficiency.
• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a similar discipline. • Five years or more of accounting experience, ideally in a related position. • It is advantageous to have a CPA, CMA, or other pertinent credential. • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. • knowledge of accounting software, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, and QuickBooks. • Strong familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, and IAS. • Outstanding ability to analyse and solve problems. • Accuracy and close attention to detail. • Strong time-management and organising abilities. • The capacity to operate both alone and cooperatively in a group setting. • Adept at using the Microsoft Office Suite, which includes Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Advanced Excel abilities for data analysis and financial modelling.
