Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Pump Fitter to join our electrical team in Obuasi. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on underground electrical systems and enhance your career in the mining sector. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical pump systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency. You will work closely with industry professionals in a safety-oriented and outcome-focused environment.

Responsibilities

1. Installation and Maintenance: o Install, inspect, and maintain various types of pumps including submersible, centrifugal, and diaphragm pumps essential for water and slurry movement. o Set up pumps and associated equipment based on mining operation needs. 2. Routine Maintenance & Troubleshooting: o Conduct regular maintenance and preventive measures to minimize downtime. o Troubleshoot and repair electrical pump systems, replacing parts, rewiring, and recalibrating as needed. o Use diagnostic tools like multimeters and insulation testers to identify and resolve electrical or mechanical issues. 3. Compliance & Safety: o Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations. o Adhere to mining safety protocols and use appropriate PPE. o Participate in safety meetings and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment. 4. Documentation & Reporting: o Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. o Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required. 5. Teamwork & Learning: o Be open to learning new techniques and share your knowledge with colleagues. o Maintain high standards of housekeeping at job sites.

Requirements

• Minimum of BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in a Hard Rock Underground Mine, or a Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. • Familiarity with the Mining Act and related regulations of Ghana. • Valid Ghanaian driving license (C & E classes) and ability to drive manual vehicles in underground settings. • Proficient in electrical pump systems, circuits, and mechanical components. • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics. • Experience with diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment. • Strong communication, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to site conditions. • Willingness to work both day and night shifts.
