Chief Accounting Officer

Overview

A Tema-based civil engineering company is hiring a chief accountant on a full-time basis. The chief accountant will offer strategic financial advice and support in all facets of the business's financial management. For this position, some remote work is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities • Provide recommendations to management for financial improvement • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans and budgets • Conduct financial forecasting and modeling • Monitor and report on budget variances • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) • Manage financial risk exposure (foreign exchange, interest rates) • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures • Prepare and present financial reports to management and stakeholders • Ensure transparency and accountability in financial reporting • Maintain relationships with auditors, bankers, and other financial stakeholders

Requirements

• Knowledge of financial management and accounting software • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities Outstanding leadership and communication skills • A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting • Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is advantageous. • It is desirable if you have prior experience in a similar job.
