Backend Automation Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Backend Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated testing and deployment systems for our backend infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure seamless integration, scalability, and reliability of our backend services.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and enhance frameworks for automated testing of backend systems. • Use Rest Assured and associated tools to implement and run automated API tests for RESTful apps. • Conduct API load testing with JMeter to monitor application performance and find bottlenecks. • Work together with product managers and developers in cross-functional teams to enhance the scalability and quality of your services. • Using programs like TestNG or JUnit, create and manage Java test scripts. • Use tools like Charles Proxy to diagnose performance issues and do backend testing for SOAP/REST APIs. • Employing GitHub Actions or comparable tools, integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. • To ensure data accuracy and integrity during test validation, use SQL to query databases. • Defects can be tracked and managed with Jira and other bug tracking software. • Encourage security testing, performance testing, and ongoing test automation process improvement. • To improve testing efficiency and coverage, make sure the code is well-written and take part in code reviews.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a similar discipline, or comparable real-world experience. • Three or more years of expertise in API testing and backend automation testing. • Strong grasp of Java and practical expertise with Rest Assured and related frameworks for automated testing. • Adept at using API testing tools for performance testing, such as JMeter, Insomnia, Swagger, and Postman. • Strong knowledge of best practices, testing methodologies, and the software testing lifecycle (STLC). • Capable of validating and querying data from relational databases; proficient in SQL. • Knowledge of AWS and experience with cloud-native technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. • Strong familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and other deployment pipelines, as well as CI/CD tools. • Knowledgeable about test management systems like TestRail as well as bug tracking and project management tools like Jira. • Outstanding attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and cooperative team spirit.
