Overview

As the Head of Ocean Freight Operations, you will be key in developing and executing the operational and commercial parts of the business. In accordance with the nation's business plan, your responsibilities center on maximizing operations, boosting profitability, and guaranteeing operational quality.

Responsibilities

• Create and put into action a successful ocean freight operations/commercial strategy that complies with national business goals and corporate policies. • Oversee the development and implementation of ocean freight plans, strategies, and financial plans in order to improve operational effectiveness, stimulate revenue growth, and support the expansion of both volume and services. • Oversee major national projects and programs to provide maritime freight solutions that are dependable, economical, and timely. • For better operational performance, oversee end-to-end capacity management, maximize network procurement, and take advantage of consolidation opportunities. • While following company policies, make important decisions on local purchasing, technical support, capacity purchase, and operating sites. • Oversee the use of preferred carriers and incentive programs while maintaining a strategic emphasis on customs business and product development. • Conduct research on customers, competitors, and the market to uncover opportunities and problems that will guide product development and pricing strategies. • Work together with sales teams to support important customer interactions, offer advice on pricing, and help with proposals and client presentations. • As you benchmark and put best practices in place for ocean freight operations across the nation, be sure that all standards, guidelines, and specifications are followed. • Oversee transport orders, reservations, import/export paperwork, supplier performance, and resolving client complaints.

Requirements

• Eight plus years of increasing operations, P&L, and commercial strategy experience. • Demonstrating outstanding fortitude, deft stakeholder handling, and potent leadership. • Master's degree in an associated discipline.
