Overview

Our esteemed organization is seeking a highly qualified Human Rights & Social Performance Principal Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving forward our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable practices across various industries and regions.

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Lead and oversee medium to large-scale projects, or key components of larger multidisciplinary endeavors. Collaboration with our global social performance teams is integral to ensuring the success of these initiatives.
  • Project Execution: Execute various project tasks with precision and excellence, including the development of proposals and the coordination of project teams. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering impactful results.
  • Team Supervision and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to project teams, nurturing the professional development of junior staff members and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong and enduring relationships with clients by delivering high-quality project outcomes and offering strategic insights to address their human rights and social performance challenges.
  • Business Development: Drive the expansion of our social performance and human rights services across diverse sectors within the EMEA region, identifying opportunities for growth and development.

Requirements

- Advanced degree (preferably at the Master’s level) in a relevant field such as Human Rights, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related discipline.

- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the fields of Human Rights or Social Performance, with a proven track record of success.

- Expertise in international safeguards and standards, including but not limited to UNGPs, ILO conventions, and industry-specific guidelines.

- Strong business acumen, demonstrated through successful business development initiatives and effective project management skills.

- Exceptional leadership abilities and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and inclusivity within the team.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English; proficiency in additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Dutch is highly desirable.

- Willingness to travel for short-term assignments to various locations, predominantly within Africa, the Middle East, and CIS countries.
