We are looking to add a very talented and conscientious Assistant Risk Officer to our team. Your job as an assistant risk officer will be to discover, assess, and manage potential risks in order to maintain the institution's financial stability and compliance with regulations. Your knowledge will be essential for upholding a robust framework for risk management, safeguarding the business's assets, and encouraging long-term growth.
• Examine a range of risks that could affect the business, such as those related to credit, operations, liquidity, markets, regulatory compliance, and credit. • Work together with various departments and carry out risk analyses to find any weak points and areas that need attention. • Create and put into effect a thorough risk management system that complies with legal requirements and industry best practices. • To effectively mitigate recognized risks, establish policies, processes, and guidelines for risk management. • Periodically review and update the current risk policy to make sure it complies with the Bank of Ghana's (BoG) Risk Management Directive. • Analyze and track the loan portfolio of the company's exposure to credit risk. • Evaluate prospective borrowers' creditworthiness and make sure the right risk rating models are applied. • Employ efficient risk monitoring instruments and methodologies to consistently monitor the organization's exposure to risks. • Provide management and the board of directors with frequent risk reports that highlight important risk indicators and trends. • When necessary, report findings and suggestions pertaining to risks to the board and management team. • Educate employees of the organization on risk awareness and risk management techniques. • Encourage a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation by cultivating a risk-aware culture inside the organization. • Create and update backup plans to deal with unforeseen circumstances and guarantee company continuity during high-risk periods. • As required by the regulator, schedule semi-annual reserve tests and stress tests every month.
• A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a similar discipline. It will be beneficial to have professional certificates or advanced degrees in risk management. • Knowledge of the Bank of Ghana's (the Central Bank's) regulations pertaining to risk management in financial institutions. • A minimum of five years of verified experience in a related role in the financial industry, ideally in the banking or savings and loan industry. • Comprehensive understanding of the operations, regulatory environment, and savings and loan products. • Knowledge of analytical tools, risk modeling, and risk assessment techniques. • Strong familiarity with the concepts and procedures of credit risk management. • A confident, industrious, and modest professional. • A cooperative team member that always seeks to better both the person and those around them. • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, together with an attention to detail.
