Drone Pilot

Overview

We are seeking a very competent Drone Pilot with experience in multispectral drone operations for data analysis, forestry operations, GIS technology, and surveys. The chosen applicant will be essential to the management of drone photography, the processing of spatial data, the creation of GIS solutions, and the support of our operations to generate carbon credits and restore forests.

Responsibilities

• Use drones to examine restoration areas from the air. • Gather, handle, and evaluate aerial data to assist with land assessment, mapping, and vegetation study. Classify aerial photography both supervised and unsupervised. • Python may be used to automate data processing operations. • Oversee the maintenance and equipment of drones. • Work together with the planning group, foresters, and other interested parties. • Manage generic GIS maps and provide outcomes from drone surveys.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in environmental science, geography, GIS, or a similar discipline • Three or more years of expertise developing, managing, and analyzing GIS data solutions • Competence with geographical databases, GIS server technology, and GIS software • Strong programming abilities in Python, R, or JavaScript; familiarity with GPS technology; knowledge of drone images processing; applications for remote sensing • Outstanding analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving capabilities • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
