Overview

A highly qualified candidate is now being sought for by our client, a respectable logistics company, for the role of Shipping Administrative Officer.

Responsibilities

Import (Incoming) • Examine incoming boats and familiarize yourself with their places in relation to the files under work. • processing of all required paperwork, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) form, the Standards Board, the Animal Production Permit (APP), the Bill of Entry (BOE) for consumers, and the Import Declaration Form (IDF). • Verify that importers have received the necessary paperwork. • Maintain continuous contact with importers • Print and get ready: the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (eMDA) electronic module in ICUMS and Working on exclusions (Ghana Standards, IDF, etc.) • Formal letters of authority and exemption • Complete the quotes for importers. • Letters and emails released by shipping lines • Inform operations so that the products are cleared. • Upon arrival, request the shipping line bills from the boats. Exporting (Outgoing) • Typing of all required export correspondence • Reserving a spot or slots aboard the ship for the delivery of goods • Send any required follow-up emails. • Responding to questions in the ICUMS (Integrated Customs Management System); dimensions, images, etc. • Approval of the customs declaration • Monitor a vessel's sailing (position, etc.) • Give the client accurate feedback on the products' arrival at the target port. • Make sure all internal paperwork is in order. Examine the bill of lading, packing list, and invoice, and before submitting, make any required changes to the bill of lading and invoice. • Make sure the amount the customer declares matches the total amount Ghana Customs accesses in order for the audit to be conducted properly. • typing letters pertaining to other documents, addressing inquiries from clients and the notice of license renewal • Any additional tasks that management assigns

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, procurement, or shipping management • Three to four years of work experience in the field Knowledge of the Integrated Customs Management Systems (ICUMS) • Must be able to balance the demands of several teams and stakeholders while managing several tasks, deadlines, and expectations. • Good mathematical and critical thinking abilities are required. • Need to be able to pick up new abilities and tools and stay current with trends. • Excellent communication skills are a must. • Needs to be focused, exact, and meticulous. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required. • Needs to be focused on providing customer service
