Overview

Receives and manages customer orders, inquiries, and/or grievances related to ordered items or products, offering specialized technical or scientific expertise in product applications. Cultivates ongoing relationships with designated customers and sales personnel, especially those engaged in the technical application of the product or service. Utilizes technical expertise regarding products, product availability, sales territories, and individual customers to serve as a vital communication conduit with customers. May oversee multiple product markets. Typically requires relevant experience, completion of technical product training, and demonstration of advanced product and process knowledge of a technical nature.

Responsibilities

  • Document and handle custom or special orders that may necessitate additional resources for fulfillment, coordinating with relevant teams as needed.
  • Furnish comprehensive product/service details and address intricate customer inquiries regarding the product/service.
  • Provide diagnosis and resolution of faults to promptly address issues.
  • Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates to meet expectations within established timelines.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to basic issue escalations, providing managerial approvals as necessary.
  • Perform basic testing and quality assurance tasks.
  • Supervise team performance, delegate tasks, review completion, and take corrective measures to ensure timeliness and quality; contribute to formal individual performance management and evaluations.
  • Enhance personal capabilities through participation in assessment and development planning activities, including formal and informal training and coaching; obtain/maintain relevant external professional certifications to enhance performance and achieve personal potential.
  • Address personal objectives and utilize performance management systems to enhance personal effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of pertinent technology, external regulations, and industry best practices through continuous education, conference attendance, and reading specialized publications.
  • Conduct periodic check-ins with non-key customers to ensure they are maximizing the value derived from the product/service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
