Head, Legal and Compliance

Overview

The legal and compliance function is led by the Head, Legal and Compliance. This comprises giving the Exchange legal advice, managing legal and regulatory risks, and making sure that all applicable laws, rules, and regulations are followed. It also includes creating and implementing compliance policies and processes.

Responsibilities

• Control the legal and regulatory hazard • Create and put into action a thorough compliance program. • Give the CEO and other stakeholders legal counsel. • Verify adherence to the Exchange's listing guidelines and regulations. • Offer legal assistance in the negotiation and writing of contracts. • Make sure that legal matters are resolved promptly. • Create and carry out legal and compliance education initiatives. • Make sure that data privacy and protection regulations are followed. • Establish and preserve connections with stakeholders and regulatory agencies

Requirements

• A call to the bar with a bachelor's degree in law • A minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience in the legal and compliance fields, three of those years spent in management • Comprehensive understanding of the legal, regulatory, and compliance standards that apply to the Exchange • Outstanding communication abilities both in writing and speaking • Strong sense of business and economic understanding • A track record of success in management and leadership • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills • Capacity for original thought
