Within the sales and marketing department, a sales representative oversees leisure, corporate, or group clients. They may also collaborate with domestic and foreign travel agencies, tour operators, conference, meeting, and incentive organizers, as well as DMCs, to handle individual and group reservations. In charge of overseeing their designated group of agencies and ensuring that the planned revenues from the group and travel trade segments are realized through important prospects and current clients.
• Engage in customer outreach, both current and prospective, and maintain regular communication with established accounts by phone, mail, or in-person interactions. • Schedule meetings and conduct site inspections, telemarketing, and personal sales calls to all current and prospective corporate commercial accounts. • Track down lost business and tell the department head of any relevant information. • Send out contracts and engage in negotiations with all clients about both individual and group business. • Keep track of the marketing and sales figures and, if necessary, suggest corrections. • Investigate data linked to the industry, recent changes to the organizational structure of certain agencies, new assignments, industrial complexes, business centers, and projects that may be of interest to and beneficial to the hotel, and share this knowledge with their colleagues. • Observe closely what the rival hotels are doing in terms of occupancy, structural changes, renovations, special campaigns, rate promotions, marketing initiatives, theme events, etc. Investigate and contrast FIT and Group traffic (i.e., who is hosting visitors at which hotel) between rivals. • Contribute suggestions and take part in the planning of the invitation lists, other promotional initiatives, and theme events. • When required, personally respond to both group and individual reservation inquiries. • Continue to have a functional customer database system (SFA) that can recognize report sales calls and other sales activity and perform updates within predetermined timeframes. • Provides guests with up-to-date information about recent hotel developments and notifies hotel management of any modifications to their personal information. • Stay informed about the most recent changes to the hotel, including all events, special offers, and pricing for both the hotel and other chain hotels. • Notify department heads of any modifications to the client profile. • Create reports after every sales call that include details about the business, the clients' concerns, requirements, and remarks. • Cover assigned accounts in a certain region or segment and make at least two yearly visits.
• It is preferred to have a degree in public relations, hotel management, marketing, or a related subject. • Two (2) years minimum of experience in sales, ideally at a four- or five-star hotel • outstanding written and verbal abilities • strong computer abilities, utilizing Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in Microsoft Office • Fidelio Micros Function, Sales, and Catering • understanding of food preparation and serving techniques • Organizing and planning • Flexibility • Adaptability • initiative • Skills in negotiation and selling
