Materials Engineer

Overview

To expand our team, we are looking for a Materials Engineer with extensive training and experience. You will be essential to the creation, testing, and use of the materials that go into our products as a Materials Engineer. Working together with cross-functional teams from design, production, and quality, you will make sure materials are cost-effective, satisfy client requirements, and meet specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create and evaluate novel materials and procedures to enhance the functionality, dependability, and manufacturing feasibility of products. • Analyze the mechanical, thermal, electrical, and corrosion resistance of the material as well as its overall performance. • Work together with manufacturers and designers to choose materials that adhere to design guidelines. • To avoid mistakes in the future, analyze failures and put corrective measures in place. • Keep up of developments in materials science and engineering industry trends and emerging technologies. • Create and uphold standards and specifications for materials to guarantee uniformity and excellence. • Work together with vendors to negotiate conditions of delivery and pricing while ensuring material quality. • Create and oversee material testing and inspection procedures to guarantee adherence to rules and industry standards. • Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams on material selection,processing, and fabrication. • Develop and implement material recycling and waste reduction programs to minimize environmental impact • Collaborate with research and development teams to identify new material technologies and applications • Budgets for material testing, development, and implementation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred) • 5+ years of experience in materials engineering, with a focus on material development, testing, and implementation • Strong understanding of material properties and behavior, including mechanical, thermal, electrical, and corrosion resistance • Experience with material testing and analysis, including tensile testing, impact testing, and microstructural analysis • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and tasks • Strong analytical and computational skills, with experience with CAD software and simulation tools (e.g. FEA, CFD)
