The Credit Officer holds the duties of assessing loan applications, administering the micro-credit institution's credit portfolio, and performing risk assessments. Ensuring the stability and profitability of the loan portfolio is the main objective, along with encouraging financial inclusion in underserved populations.
Evaluation of Loan: • Examine loan applications that small firms and individuals have submitted. • Assess the applicant's credit risk thoroughly to ascertain whether they will be able to repay the loan. • Check the accuracy of application materials and evaluate applicants' overall financial situation. Credit Evaluation: • To evaluate creditworthiness, examine financial statements, credit reports, and other pertinent documentation. • Evaluate the applicant's morality, ability, and supporting documentation to reduce hazards. • Determine cash flow, debt ratios, and other financial parameters to help you make wise lending selections. Relationship Management with Customers: • Create and preserve a good rapport with your clients. • When it comes to loan terms, conditions, and repayment plans, communicate in a clear and open manner. • Encourage clients to make responsible borrowing and repayment arrangements by providing them with financial education and advice. Management of Portfolios: • Keep an eye on and oversee the loan portfolio of the microfinance organization. • Determine and manage possible hazards, such as defaults and delinquencies. • Put collection tactics into practice and collaborate with clients to resolve repayment issues. Observance: • Make sure internal policies and regulatory standards are followed. • Keep up with any changes to the laws that have an impact on microfinance, and modify your lending procedures accordingly. Record-keeping: • Make sure all loan documentation is up to date, correct, and thorough. • Make sure that the required documentation complies with legal and regulatory requirements and is in order. Reporting: • Provide information on the loan portfolio's performance on a regular basis. • Offer analysis and suggestions for enhancing risk management and lending procedures.
• A Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a similar subject. • Demonstrated expertise at a financial institution in a credit officer, credit analyst, or related position • Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to understand credit reports, credit scoring models, and financial accounts. • Outstanding verbal and written communication and bargaining abilities. • The capacity to prioritize work, operate independently, and successfully manage several responsibilities. • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, financial analysis tools, and credit evaluation software. • A current driver's license (Category B)
