Activities related to drilling, geology, geophysics, geological mapping, and sampling will fall under the purview of the geological field technician. The technician will help with field surveys, geological data collection and analysis, and participation in the exploration and extraction procedures.
• Assist geologists and other professionals in conducting fieldwork, sampling, and data collection. • Operate and maintain specialized equipment, such as GPS devices, sampling drills, and geophysical instruments. • Collect and label geological samples, including rocks, soil, and water, for further analysis. • Conduct field measurements, such as surveying and mapping, to gather data on geological formations and structures. • Assist in the preparation of field reports, maps, and other documents to present findings. • Ensure safety protocols are followed in the field, including maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to industry standards. • Participate in environmental monitoring and sampling programs, including water and soil quality testing.
• Drilling, geology, and geophysics expertise; geological mapping and sample experience; Proven capacity to gather and evaluate geological data; strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities • Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative skills • adept in using geological and geographic software • Familiarity with mining safety procedures and requirements • A bachelor's degree in geophysics, geology, or a similar discipline; expertise in alluvial mining or fieldwork is advantageous.
