CompEx Electrical Technician

Overview

Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment in dangerous locations will be your duty as an electrical technician. Takoradi, Ghana is the location of this on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems in hazardous areas, such as petrochemical plants, oil rigs, and mines. • Inspection and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical equipment and systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. • Electrical Fault Finding: Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults and problems, and perform repairs and maintenance as needed. • Hazardous Area Classification: Conduct hazardous area classification surveys to determine the level of risk and necessary safety measures. • CompEx Certification: Ensure that all electrical work is carried out in accordance with CompEx standards and guidelines. • Electrical Design and Engineering: Assist in the design and engineering of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. • Safety and Risk Assessment: Conduct safety and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them, ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Three years or more of experience in a comparable capacity as a CompEx Electrical Technician • Requires a valid CompEx certification (Ex01-Ex04); must have • A valid certificate from BOSIET, IMIST, OGUK, or a comparable program is required. • Knowledge of installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment in dangerous environments • Understanding of safety guidelines and practices pertaining to electrical work the capacity to read and comprehend technical manuals and electrical diagrams • Strong attention to detail and devotion to quality standards are demonstrated by the troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities of the individual. • Capacity to operate both individually and in a team • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities • Proficiency in the language • Engineering bachelor's degree or a closely related degree • Strong technical proficiency and comprehension of engineering concepts and procedures • Awareness of pertinent laws and safety requirements • Strong ability to solve problems and make decisions
